High Resolution Hydrogeophysical Imaging and Characterisation

چکیده
Geophysical methods are important tools for a wide range of geological, hydrogeological, and engineering investigations. Conventional processing techniques for electromagnetic tools often use approximations that may be either inappropriate or only provide limited resolution. Higher resolution images can be derived by using more sophisticated approaches that explicitly take into account the electromagnetic wave propagation characteristics. Here, three relatively new developments to obtain high resolution images of quantitative medium properties are discussed: 1) electromagnetic induction (EMI) calibration using apparent electrical conductivity modeling based on electrical resistivity tomography, 2) dispersion inversion of ground-penetrating radar (GPR) data recorded across surface waveguides, and 3) fullwavefield inversion of crosshole tomographic GPR data.

Robust Fuzzy Content Based Regularization Technique in Super Resolution Imaging
Super-resolution (SR) aims to overcome the ill-posed conditions of image acquisition. SR facilitates scene recognition from low-resolution image(s). Generally assumes that high and low resolution images share similar intrinsic geometries. Various approaches have tried to aggregate the informative details of multiple low-resolution images into a high-resolution one. In this paper, we present a n...
متن کاملQuantitative Integration of High-Resolution Hydrogeophysical Data: A Novel Approach to Monte-Carlo-Type Conditional Stochastic Simulations and Implications for Hydrological Predictions
Geophysical techniques can help to bridge the inherent gap that exists with regard to spatial resolution and coverage for classical hydrological methods. This has led to the emergence of a new and rapidly growing research domain generally referred to as hydrogeophysics. Given the differing sensitivities of various geophysical techniques to hydrologically relevant parameters, their inherent trad...
متن کاملDetermination of Fiber Direction in High Angular Resolution Diffusion Images using Spherical Harmonics Functions and Wiener Filter
Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) MRI is a noninvasive imaging method of the cerebral tissues whose fibers directions are not evaluated correctly in the regions of the crossing fibers. For the same reason the high angular resolution diffusion images (HARDI) are used for estimation of the fiber direction in each voxel. One of the main methods to specify the direction of fibers is usage of the spher...
متن کاملEvaluation of the performance of parallel-hole collimator for high resolution small animal SPECT: A Monte Carlo study
Introduction: Image quality and accuracy of in vivo activity quantification in SPECT are affected by collimator penetration and scatter components, especially in high energy imaging. These phenomena highly depend on the collimator characteristic and photon energy. The presence of penetrated and scattered photons from collimator in SPECT images degrades spatial resolution, contr...
